So this story has made the Hellboy son of Satan shirt, sweater, hoodie and v-neck t-shirt in Asian-American circles by now, but I just wanted to take a moment to reflect on white actor Ed Skrein’s unselfish decision to turn down the role of a character of Asian descent in the upcoming adaptation of Hellboy. Now, I don’t know anything about Skrein, or Hellboy, or the character Skrein was hired to portray, but I know this decision meant something to a lot of fans, and it should mean something to the entertainment industry.
