If they choose to have Behind every cheerleader who believes in herself is a cheer mom who believed in her first shirt, have a more balanced choice, although I do not know how many actually compete regularly. Anyways, I cheered at the University of Texas. We were a pretty traditional school (I cheered competitively in high school). The cheerleading squad wasn't necessarily at the sports level of effort and practice, but we did some fairly athletic things. I was on the coed squad, but there was also an all-girls squad and a dance squad called 'Pom squad'.
