Interesting thing: The cross was most likely two different pieces of Jesus cross it’s heavy huh Avengers superhero shirt. It's far easier to pound a piece into the ground and then just tie/nail the condemned to the cross piece and then set it into place than it is to lift a whole cross with prisoner already attached. Also, the nails would have been driven through the wrists, not hands, and then the ankles nailed on each side of beam rather than one nail through both feet on the front of the cross.
