I am quite certain it saved me. I read about a therapist who asked a predator what is the single most important piece of advice he could give to parents to keep their children safe. His reply was to listen to your children. He targeted kids who needed somebody to listen and understand them as a way of gaining their trust and ultimately gaining control over them. So never be too busy or too preoccupied to listen to your children.
